Features & Technical Requirements
Pellet boiler exhaust gases operate at 150–250 °C, necessitating condensate-resistant materials and construction. SPNP systems incorporate a built-in fan to maintain positive pressure and prevent backflow of condensation. Key requirement: pressure class P1 per EN 1856-2. Materials used include AISI 304 and AISI 316L stainless steels, providing excellent corrosion resistance. High-temperature silicone and graphite gaskets ensure hermetic connections. Standard diameters are 80 mm and 100 mm, with 80 mm being the most common choice for residential pellet boilers.
SPNP Chimney System
SPNP stands for Special Pressure-tight Pellet chimney system, designed specifically for pellet appliances. The outer jacket is powder-coated carbon steel for weather resistance and mechanical protection. The inner liner is AISI 304 stainless steel, ensuring efficient gas flow and easy cleaning. The system includes a condensate collection and drainage tray. Connection adapters fit directly onto the boiler flue outlet, and transition pieces enable integration with existing ceramic chimney systems.
Selection & Installation
When choosing diameter, ensure the chimney cross-sectional area exceeds the boiler flue outlet by 20%. A minimum height of 2.5 m above the boiler outlet is recommended for adequate draught. Maintain at least 0.5 m clearance from combustible materials. Use certified wall and roof penetration kits to preserve fire safety and airtightness.
